SSC CHSL results might declare in the month of March or April 2017. The results are to be announced on the official website of SSC. This exam was conducted in January 2017 for the posts of Sorting Assistant, Postal Assistant, Lower Division Clerk and Data Entry Operator. It was held for 6578 posts.

More about the exam

The exam pattern was based on multiple choice questions. This was exam was held in two shift i.e. morning shift and evening shift. A massive number of applicants appeared in this exam. This makes it a throat cutting test and only those best candidates will secure their place.  The selection will be further carried by Skill test and the final merit list will be prepared after it.

Phases of the selection

The candidates who successfully cleared the Tier I exam can appear in the Tier II exam which is a skill test. It will be conducted on 9th of April 2017. Basically, the skill test includes a typing test. The candidates applied for DEO posts must possess a typing speed of 8000 Key depression / Hour. The candidates applied for lower division clerk, personal assistant and sorting assistant posts have to possess 35words/minute English typing or 30 words/minute of Hindi typing.

Expected cut off marks

Though the cut-off marks are not yet declared but we have estimated them on the basis of various factors. The key factors that we have taken into consideration are as follows.

  • Previous years cut off marks
  • Total number of aspirants appeared
  • Marking Scheme
  • Difficulty standard of the exam
  • Average performance of applicants

Following are the cut-off marks that we expect.

  • It will be around 130-140 marks for general (UR) candidates.
  • For OBC (other backward castes) aspirants, it will be nearly 120-130 marks.
  • For SC/ST candidates, it will be nearly 98-110 marks.

However, it is just a raw estimation and the actual cut-off may vary.
